PITCH PINE

This is a strong and durable timber used for ship building, decorative beams and heavy constructional work, with smaller kiln dried sections being used for flooring and quality joinery works. A timber of good appearance and characteristic grain.

QUEBEC YELLOW PINE (Pinus Strobus)

This species is sometimes referred to as White Pine, and is native of North America. It is a very stable timber and much lighter and softer than comparative redwoods. The timber works very easily by hand and with machining tools. It finishes very well and is particularly suited to pattern making and furniture manufacturing.

EKKI

Ekki continues to be popular as a specialist timber. Its appearance, durability and resistance to decay make it a popular species for a number of specialist construction uses and rail applications such as sleepers and bridge work. It is available in various larger sections and lengths.

GREENHEART

One of the strongest timbers commercially available today, in both large sections and long lengths. Greenheart is a very durable timber for use in a variety of constructional situations including both marine and heavy civil engineering projects. Its overall strength and long life timber for both rail and specialist construction applications.

OPEPE

A yellowish-brown hardwood grown in West Africa. Extremely strong, durable and resistant to decay. Opepe is widely used in heavy construction applications and in marine and jetty work. This increasingly popular timber can also be used for railway longitudinal bridge timbers and decking.
